Take a ride on Directory Submission

A web directory is like a web bank of links and online information. It has got hundreds of categories and subcategories under which various websites are listed according to the relevance.

It is intriguing to note why being listed on a directory is of any consequence at all. I call it a circular path: You have a website (which is complete with content and not under construction), and you want to enlist it in various online directories available. Now you approach any directory and submit your website to the specific category your website is relevant to and get a listing. By doing this submission you have actually acquired for yourself, a valuable one-way link back to your website. Now popular search engines give prime importance to the number of one-way links your website has to its advantage. It helps to acquire certain leverage for the various attributes that the search engine uses to judge you and finally your website gets a boost in search engine rankings.

So next time a user searches for anything related to the product or service your website is offering, you get More Visibility in the fascinating online world.

Now the circular path I was referring to is aptly described in these words “There is a vicious cycle: you can't get search engine traffic, or other non-paid traffic, without inbound links; yet without inbound links or search engine traffic, how is anyone going to find you to give you inbound links?”

The above words really got me thinking…
So on this note I will leave you guys to get ready for the merry-go-round ride.
