Tips To Make Your Directory Submission Successful

Anyone who owns a site wants to see the maximum traffic to the site. So if you desire the same then what is the harm? But I found that drawing visitors to a site is not as simple as it may seem, it involves a lot of hard work and planning. Some people will advice you that you can get good traffic solely by submitting your site to directories. But I doubt the wisdom of these people. There are so many websites that have to wait for months before their submission bears fruit and they get a page rank. You can’t blame the directories too because the editors of these directories follow stringent rules to make sure that their directory is worthwhile.

As I found out that most of the webmasters pay little importance to the details required during directory submission. I would ask you to give a look in at the details. To further make your submission readily acceptable to the directories here are some useful tips:

  • Don’t submit mirror pages. Directories do not like similar pages with similar content. This also affects your credibility.
  • Do not submit under construction pages.
  • Submit only the top-level domain of your pages and omit the unnecessary portions like the index.html or any other sub-domains.
  • Check your links properly before submitting because broken links might have an adverse reaction from the directories.
  • Submit in the right category. Find out which category suits you the most because submission in the wrong category may lead to non-acceptance on the directories part.
  • Make your site compact and filled with articles containing valuable information.

What’s more just follow these basic tips and see the influx of traffic to your website.
